      <description><![CDATA[One immature bird looking very bittern-like on water's edge and one roosting low down in a willow tree. Four seen flying at evening - all immatures. Circa12 Spotted Crakes on shore and  floating vegetation around western side of lake. Two male Blue-billed Duck and one juvenile have been here for at least a month. Up to three seen at one time. Latham's Snipe seen three times in the last week.  Never seen Lake Wendouree with such abundant birdlife. Also recorded two Buff-banded Rails. We walk a part of the lake most evenings.]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[Following on from recent postings, there were 11 Freckled Duck on the main lagoon today, firstly loafing on posts in water then later retiring to shelter of willows on far side. Also there a pure-looking Mallard that appeared to be a male in eclipse, a pair of Blue-billed duck and a Black-fronted Dotterel.]]></description>
