Sat 28 Silver Gull Serangan Island, south end, Bali, Indonesia, Java
(1) wading in shallow lagoon, and then on low shingle island. -8.748352 degrees, 115.223714 degrees (google earth / maps) distant views - many distant photos taken. red legs, pale iris - looks like a Silver Gull to us? Full list

Fri 27 "pied" Oystercatcher Serangan, Bali, Java
Single bird roosting on shingle island in enclosed lagoon at south end of Serangan (which is between Sanur and Benoa Harbour). Mixed in with large flock of Sunda Teal. Time was between 2pm and 2:30pm decimal degree coordinates in Google Earth/Maps: -8.747182, 115.223039 Perched views with head tucked in - black above, white below. Raised its head briefly and distinctive large red beak was clearly visible. We did not realise the significance of the sighting until the next morning. I returned and failed to relocate the bird. 100% Oystercatcher, but is it Eurasian or Australian???
